Vorige week zaterdag las ik bij haar over het project! Nou, daar voelde ik wel wat voor en ben eens even in mijn kast gaan snuffelen naar stofjes hihi. Kleurtjes die ik normaal gesproken niet gebruik maar heerlijk zijn om mee te werken, ik werd er helemaal blij van: tropische kleuren tijdens een tropische temperatuur. Want 36 graden Celcius is voor ons noorderlingen toch wel tropisch te noemen!! Hier zijn de blokken die ik gemaakt heb, ze zijn onderweg naar Florida!!
Saturday last I read at her blog about the project! I felt like helping and went through my cupboard for fabrics hihi. Colours which I normally don't use but are lovely to work with, I got all excited: tropical colours while tropical temperatures are here. Because 36 degrees Celcius is quite tropical for us northern folks!! These are the blocks I made, the are on their way to Florida!!
Dit project zet zich in om mensen overal ter wereld te voorzien van schoon drinkwater en sanitair. Het huidige project is een project in de Centraal-Afrikaanse Republiek, waar in een dorp een nieuwe waterput en een latrine komen. This project is organised to give people around the world save, clean water and basic sanitation. The current project is to provide a new well and a new latrine for a school in a village in the Central African Republic. Om het geld voor dit project bijeen te krijgen, is men op zoek naar quiltsters over heel de wereld die 1 of meer blokken willen doneren (12 x 12 inch of 9,5 x 9,5 inch) Van deze blokken worden quilts gemaakt, die op 19 november, Wereld toilet Dag, geveild zullen worden. In order to raise money for the project, they are seeking people who want to donate a 12 x 12 inch of 9.5 x 9.5 inch block. blocks from all around the world will be put together in quilt which will be auctioned on November 19, World Toilet Day!
